Provisions for appeal
Section 50 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009
An appeal shall lie against the decision or order made as per following table. The appeal should ve preferred in the prescribed format.

Period of Appeal
The appeal should be preferred within 60 days of the passing of order. However, the Appellate Authority may allow further time if satisfied that there is a genuine ground of delay.

Schedule XII of the LM (General) Rules, 2011
Fees will have to be paid in cash or by affixing court fee stamp of the same value on the application.

Special Power of the Government
Section 50(5)
- The Sate Government may call for and examine records of proceedings, including proceedings in an appeal for the purpose of examining its correctness, legality or propriety.
- Similarly, the Central Government may call for records from its sub-ordinate offices for the same purpose.
- Where it is considered that the order or decision in the proceedings requires revision, the person who will be effected by the reversal or change will be given an opportunity of showing cause.
